I first came across the workshop, Ellas Lo Bordan, on Instagram, and was immediately struck by the powerful mission behind it: Empowering immigrant women in Madrid who are at risk of social exclusion by teaching them the craft of sewing.

We knew we wanted to work with them one day but didn’t know how just yet...

One day, our seamstress Isabel, wanted to get rid of the leftover scraps of Ikat silk from our previous collections. We immediately said NO!!

Instead of letting these beautiful fabrics go to waste, we decided to repurpose them into something special with the women at Ellas Lo Bordan (in English, “They Sew It”).

And thus, we made the TASHKENT Linen & Silk Pouch.

Each pouch is beautifully crafted from a beautiful heavyweight linen, with an inside lining of our repurposed Ikat silk that is simply sublime.
It's perfect to store almost anything inside your bag, and it's versatile so you can use it as a small purse, to keep your make-up, or even as a pencil case.

It's a small pouch with a big heart, that we hope you'll love as much as we do.
